Why this will succeed!

There are really two strands which make this effort news worthy and potential political dynamite in a Gubernatorial year.

Grassroots Law Making

First, regardless of the views of people on RKBA per se, the online, grassroots approach which we are using will arouse tremendous publicity and comment in the media and political circles. This is going to catch them flat-footed. If we set up a web-based service, not just for RKBA but for any grassroots activism, to allow close to online law making by the public, the system will be terrified.

So isn't this a problem?

Well yes, depending on how they go about fighting it in court, rule changes, etc. But it also means that we get virtually free advertising and the word spread about the CRKBA as a side effect of them discussing the temerity of hoi poloi and the floodgates this might open.

Which brings us to the second reason for success.

The Nuclear Option

As well as making this a simple and painless as possible for gun owners to do something, the something it enables them to do is a "nuclear" option.

Like me, I'm sure you are fed up receiving alerts, emails, fund-raisers, etc., from the existing RKBA organizations which exhort you to write/phone your representatives to fight bill xyz, etc. One, these are defensive moves to slow down the encroachement of our rights, and two we know they will just keep trying, and all that effort just to stop one tiny inch of advance, in the fourth quarter.

The approach I'm proposing is "nuclear" in that it is an offensive play to move the ball right back down the field to the start, repeal hundreds of laws, rules and agenices in one fell swoop, and make it harder for them to come back again.

Its simple, straighforward, and costs little effort, for a potentially enormous gain. Why wouldn't people support this.

Professional Web Campaign

The pages you are reading at the moment are my amateurish approach to get this program off the ground using my family web site and its hosting service. I am in the process of finding a professional web service which can put this on a much more professional footing and to integrate the whole web phenomenon seen in the Ron Paul and Howard Dean campaigns: we need to get flash graphics, videos, youtube, myspace, meetups, blogs, etc., organized and running.
